Renowned soprano Laura Ansaldi has been awarded the distinguished Arts-Sciences-Lettres (ASL) Platinum medal, a prestigious honor recognizing her outstanding contributions to opera and the arts. The medal was presented on October 6, 2024, at an elegant ceremony held in the iconic Salon Opéra of the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand Hotel, a historic venue that has hosted generations of cultural milestones.

The celebrations began the evening prior, on October 5, with an exclusive cultural event at the Embassy of Oman in Paris. Co-hosted by H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed bin Nasser al Araimi, Omani Ambassador to France, and the Swiss Foundation Bridging Nations, the evening was dedicated to promoting inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and sustainability through the arts. Ansaldi performed a moving program dedicated to His Late Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the people of Oman, and to women as a powerful force for transformation in society. Her selections, including arias from La Traviata, Faust, and La Wally, highlighted opera’s emotional resonance and its capacity to unite diverse audiences.

At the ASL Grand Awards Ceremony the following day, Ansaldi delivered another unforgettable performance, this time in a duet with acclaimed Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov. Both platinum medal recipients, they presented a stirring interpretation of emotionally charged and technically demanding pieces by Rachmaninoff and Verdi, creating a moment of exceptional artistic synergy.

Reflecting on the honor, Ansaldi called the experience “the achievement of a lifetime,”adding: “Just going through the process was worth it, but receiving this recognition—it’s something I’ll never forget. It’s the most spiritual achievement of my career.” Her presence in Paris reflected not only her vocal brilliance but also her enduring commitment to the arts as a means of cultural diplomacy. Throughout her career, she has championed charitable causes, with a strong focus on empowering women and mentoring young artists with special needs.

Her accomplishments were prominently featured in Muscat Daily, one of Oman’s leading newspapers, which praised her brilliant performances both at the embassy and during the Paris awards ceremony.

Looking ahead, Laura Ansaldi will make her Carnegie Hall debut in June 2025, a highly anticipated performance that further confirms her place among the world’s most celebrated operatic voices.
